hen night at the dogs in Oxford

Created at 11:54 on Thu 21st Feb 2008 by Leigh Stringer

Oxford is a delightful city with plenty of history, culture and architecture. But when you’re on a hen night, these things aren’t usually enough to fulfil the desires and expectations of fun-hungry hen parties.

Hen parties can achieve these thrills and spills, by experiencing a hen weekend at the Oxford dog track. A visit to the dog track has become big business in the hen party industry. Women are beginning to get that big win buzz and are coming back for more. A hen night out at the dog track may not be your average hen activity, but the electric atmosphere and sleek, lightning-speed dogs have made this event a popular choice with the ladies.

What attracts the crowds to the dog track? Well, many people enjoy a good bet without having to spend a lot of cash. Betting on the dogs can be an inexpensive night-out and is a very different experience from horse racing. An evening at the dog track is an informal evening, so casual is fine. However, many groups like to make a real night of it and dress to impress.

If you decide on a hen weekend at the dogs in Oxford prepare for ups and downs, highs and lows. You can bet as little as fifty pence a race, so you should have plenty of money to spend afterwards at Oxford’s many bars and pubs.

A hen party in Oxford allows you the option of having a sophisticated evening out with the ladies, drinking and dining in some of the finer venues or going a little wild and experiencing some of the more interesting pubs and clubs scattered around the city.

While on an Oxford hen weekend at the dogs, enjoy a little added extra to the night by naming one of the races after the bride-to-be. This can be a really nice touch and can either be a sentimental compliment or you could have a bit of a laugh by using the hen’s childhood nickname.

Organising an Oxford hen night out at the dogs couldn’t be easier, just contact events company Eclipse Leisure, who will organise the whole event with little effort from you.

Don’t be fooled by Oxford’s long history of culture and sophistication - you can have a weekend of plain drinking in any of the cities gorgeous pubs. And to stop your hangover, choose the best method, ‘hair of the dog’…sorry, I mean a ‘night at the dogs’.
