You’ve found the ‘one’ – that person that puts a massive grin on your face every time you think of them. And now you’re getting crazy thoughts of marriage…yes, marriage, that thing you thought you would never even contemplate. So, before you even think about buying the ring you have got to come up with a stupendously romantic, original way to pop the big question.
As men, we sometimes lack creativity and motivation, especially when it comes to something as colossal as marriage. But have no fear; thanks to the internet we can just copy some poor fool’s idea who racked his brains for months on end.
We’ve tried to stay away from the cliché’s as these have been done to death. E.g. Eiffel Tower, candle lit dinner etc. We’ve looked at some of the more original ways to end your single life and commit to a life of….happiness.
Well, sit back, make a brew and read some of these fantastic proposal ideas. They are certain to get that lucky gals heart racing:
1/ A young man took his girlfriend to France for a skiing holiday. Having enjoyed a day on the slopes the guy told his girlfriend he would meet her back at the hotel. He then wrote ‘will you marry me?’ in the snow and took a picture of the carefully scrolled sentence with his camera. The next day he asked her to have the film developed and as she shuffled through the photos she came across the ‘special’ photo. Behind her was her boyfriend down on one knee holding open a box revealing a diamond ring.
2/ This proposal is one of our favourite’s – This young chap’s girlfriend was living in Cambridge studying. He lived on the South coast and had to make up a spurious excuse for her to come down. He arranged for a couple of friends to wait on the local pier with a banner that had the all important words on. He also arranged fireworks for that special touch. As the evening closed in, he walked his girlfriend along the pier and then along the stone arm that runs slightly further out to sea. He signalled to the pier, where the banner was then dropped and the fireworks were lit. She turned and found him on his knee with the ring in his hand…..beautiful.
3/ This is not possible for many people at the moment but still, its got originality. One guy proposed to his girlfriend in space as they were leaving the earth’s atmosphere. It doesn’t get much more romantic than that.
4/ One young man's imagination ran away with him when he found a great way to pop the question. The man decided to send 50 lanterns a loft as he proposed to his girlfriend. The great idea unfortunately triggered reports of UFO sightings from many of the locals. Although the proposal caused a fair bit of controversy throughout the town, the lady was impressed and said ‘yes’.
5/ This one is a little geeky but still incredibly romantic. A guy from the USA was studying animation at university and had decided to pop the question to his girlfriend. He got together some of his animator friends to help him put together a four minute animation, asking the young lady to marry him. After three months of hard work they had finished the short film. He got all his friends and family to go to the local cinema complex. He then took his girlfriend to the cinema where they played the short animation asking her to marry him. She gasped and managed to say ‘yes’. Then to add to the surprise both their families and friends stood up and clapped in celebration….genius.
