Drinking Games

Be cool and let it just flow
Be cool and let it just flow

Through years of anticipation, months of planning, thousands in expenditures, and a sense of something like imprisonment, you are finally on your way to the alter in the morning.  Yes, tomorrow you will join the ranks of the eternally joined, the blessedly bonded, the wedded…

As for tonight, you are still a single, wild, and free being.  An example of free-flowing, unfiltered life itself!  There is going to be some drinking done, and you feel that it should be taken very seriously, so seriously in fact, that you are going to have to invite your friends over to take it all very seriously with you.  There must be rules though.  Order must be upheld.  Use our stag drinking games guide to maximize the fun content of your party night and engage in some awesomely amusing and mind-warping drinking games.

Let me tell you that in my world, there isn’t any thing funny about drinking; every “game” you might find me engaged in would be what we shall call “Mind Smashers”.  The criteria for this elusive title are thus:

  • One or more players will forfeit without vomiting within the first thirty minutes of game play; they will not choose to continue due to a lack of personal courage.  They lack a true party attitude and should be asked to immediately leave the gaming area.  Shame awaits their very existence.
  • Some champion-hearted sportsman will in fact puke within the first forty-five minutes of play; a sad yet beautiful example of true guts.
  • A good time for all competitors.

One of my personal favourite Mind Smashers is a game simply entitled:  “I Drink.  You Drink”.  Game play is kept minimally vexing in the following manner:

  • Competitor One drinks a hearty, full shot of whatever intoxicating beverage has been chosen.
  • Competitors Two, Three, and so on repeat Competitor One’s action until all competitors have performed adequately.
  • Competitor One again takes a full, brain-twisting shot of booze, and the process repeats until only one lone liquid warrior is left at the warring zone:  The victor.  This gladiator prevails, not only in the game, but in life itself.

One of my other favourite stag drinking games is about endurance.  And balance. So the story goes, nobody has ever won, lost or drawn. The rules are simple:

  • The drinker approaches the bar and orders a shot
  • The drinker pays for the drink with too much money (i.e. hand over a tenner for the one drink)
  • As the barman goes away to get change, the drinker downs the shot.
  • When the barman returns with your change, return to step 1

The game has a number of possible outcomes:

  • Drinker falls over (Result: Bar wins)
  • Barman punches drinker's lights out (Result: Draw)
  • Drinker gets thrown out (Result: Draw)
  • Bar closes (Result: Drinker wins!)

There are literally thousands of such games, some far more refined than these.  You need to remember that I am a professional with many years of fierce competition under my (extended) belt.  All is fair in the love of drinking, and you are allowed to spontaneously create your own drinking games any time you like.  You make the rules.  You choose the buzz level.  You are in charge.  At least for one more night.
